who emerged victorious from a total of 46 entries comprising professional and amateur competitors from Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Korea, Japan, Australia and Singapore. An international showcase of floristry skills and talent!

Competitors in the Professional category had to complete 3 designs, a suspended floral display titled “A Black Fantasy Beyond the Sky”, the second titled “Grand Prix” and the third being a Surprise Package Design “Handtied Bouquet for the Grand Prix Champion”.

In the Amateur category, competitors had to complete 2 designs, one titled “Casino” and the other also a Surprise Package Design “Dinner centerpiece for a poker game opening at the casino”.

The Surprise Package Design was only made known to the competitors on the morning of the competition. Each competitor was given a similar set of materials and was tested on their ability to design and create on-the-spot.

FDSS was honoured to have the panel of judges - Brenda Lee AIFD and Zoe Ong AIFD from Singapore, Hitomi Gilliam AIFD from Canada, Tor Gundersen from Norway and Henk Mulder from Holland who had the undaunting task of evaluating all the 105 designs.

In attendance at the Prize Presentation Ceremony were Guest-of-Honour Ms Grace Fu, Senior Minister of State for National Development and Education, Ms Peggy Chong Deputy CEO, National Parks Board and distinguished guests. Ms Grace Fu presented the winners with the challenge trophies, certificate and cash prizes.

The evening came to closure with a tour of the competition designs followed by a cocktail reception for all to celebrate and enjoy great camaraderie!

FDSS looks forward to bringing you yet another milestone floral designing competition in the year 2010!
